My friend Kevin charitably decided to help me with reinstalling Windows 7 on this PC, and after a couple of hours thank god it's all working. And I even have the disk now so can reinstall if necessary!
I have obtained Ableton Live and will soon be installing Pro Tools 8 or 9 onto the system depending on which version comes with my new interface.
Next I shall work on a remix of Adele's Rolling In The Deep followed by some original tracks.
M-Audio Fast Track MKII
It's an M-Audio Fast Track MKII which is...
...Pretty basic but all I need for the moment. It's also the latest version so hopefully should still have drivers if I change PCs/ Operating systems in the future.
This plus a pair of studio monitor speakers are on order from those lovely people at thomman.de
